Meet the Staff
Dr. Clark is the Clinic Director at the Newnan, GA Walmart Health location.
Dr. Clark is a cum lade graduate of Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training and an honor graduate of Armstrong Atlantic State University as a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
Stephen has practiced in outpatient private practice since 2013. He has continued learning through the completion of Evidence in Motion’s Orthopedic Manual Therapy certification program in 2014, earned his Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) designation in 2015, and also graduated from Evidence in Motion’s Executive Program in Practice Management in 2018. Dr. Clark enjoys working with patients of all ages, but has particular interest in lifestyle modification through movement and running related injuries. Prior to moving back to Georgia, Dr. Clark served as a clinic director with Texas Physical Therapy Specialists from 2015 – 2020 and was named TexPTS Team leader of the year and was also a Confluent Health Team leader of the year finalist in 2020.
Outside of work, Stephen enjoys spending time with his wife, Danielle, 2 children, Paxton and Ayla, and 2 dogs Ollie and Max. He is an avid runner and cyclist and has completed 3 full marathons, numerous half marathons, a half ironman, and a handful of short distance triathlons. In his spare time, he can be found enjoying the outdoors, running, cycling, camping, hiking, or cheering on his favorite sports teams, The Georgia Southern Eagles, Atlanta Braves, and Atlanta Falcons!
Dr. Gerardo “Gerry” Avila, is a native to Gainesville, GA. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio TX. Prior to this, he completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at the University of Georgia.
Gerry is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT), a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA, and is a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS). He is also Trigger Point Dry Needling Certified through Evidence In Motion (EIM) and is currently enrolled in OPTIM’s Fellowship in Manual Therapy Program.
When Gerry is not in clinic, he enjoys spending time at the gym, playing golf, watching UGA Football as well as the Atlanta Falcons. He is a foodie by nature and enjoys discovering new local restaurants and breweries.
